Community

We are a community focused centre with a warm, caring environment. We have a close relationship with the parents and whanau that attend the centre, we have families that have been with us for long periods of time as we have a
lot of younger siblings join us when they are two. “This is the most wonderful preschool. Both my boys have attended Bright Bears over the last 3 and a half years. We could not be happier with the level of care and attention our children are shown. The teachers are kind, nurturing and very informative and approachable. We love the calm atmosphere at both pick and drop off and a great deal of effort goes into the school room. My boys have been and are prepared and ready for school thanks to these amazing teachers. I could not recommend a preschool more highly.” – Danielle Whip
(Parent).

We are lucky enough to be located near Little Manly beach and take advantage of this location by going on walks to the beach and local playgrounds when the weather is suitable. We go on trips to different communities within Auckland to teach the children about the different community roles such as bus driver, librarian and how to be a responsible community member. We have done trips to Kelly Tarlton’s, Butterfly Creek and the local library. We also have community members come and visit us from time to time such as the local police, St John’s and the fire department to name a few.
Gross Motor skills are also very important to us and to extend on our normal curriculum we have an exercise time once a week with a Physical Education Instructor and we repeat this practice later in the week to ensure all of our children have access to some form of physical exercise.
We hold many parents evenings and functions throughout the year to better involve our families in their children’s learning, we have Matariki evenings, Fathers, Mother’s and Grandparents days as well as support charities close to
our hearts such as breast cancer, red nose appeal and Heart Kids.
