Programme
Our programme is
structured into play and work times to give the children
the freedom of choosing their activities, giving them the opportunity
to satisfy their curiosity, develop new skills and interests alongside
teachers and peers. This is an opportunity for teachers to work with
individuals or small groups of children to extend their thinking and
support their learning.
The
children are
divided into groups dependent on age and ability for mat times.
All children will participate in stories, finger plays, songs and poems
and older children extended with alphabet and numeral recognition.
Children
will come
together as one group for music at the end of the session and will be
encouraged to participate in a variety of music and movement skills
using song, instruments, scarves, parachute and circle games.
The children’s
well being is important at Bright Bears. Our policy states if the
children fall asleep they obviously need to recharge their batteries
therefore all children will have a rest for a minimum of half an hour
during the afternoon.
Our
meal breaks
provide children and staff opportunities to engage socially and promote
healthy eating and self help skills. Parents are to provide children
with their food for the day. We
encourage parents to provide healthy snacks and drinks. No sweets
please.
