Daily activities involve a child-initiated program, balanced with
teacher-led activities. Our children follow
daily routines which are semi-flexible depending on the activities
organised for that given day. A routine allows our children to develop
whilst the predictability is reassuring. Several activities are run
simultaneously allowing each child the option of choice. Our children are
encouraged to satisfy their innate curiosity, to develop skills and gain
new interests under teacher supervision. The activities arranged mean our
teachers
may work on a
one-to-one basis or within small groups to develop our children’s thinking
and to support their learning.
The children are divided into two groups dependent on age and ability for language and
story-time. Story-time consists of read-aloud stories, finger plays, songs
and poems. All our children come together for
music time at the end of each session and will be encouraged to
participate in a variety of music and movement skills using song,
instruments and games. External trips are
also arranged. All parents are notified of any trip organized, and may
attend these outings if they wish.
